Clariant Excellence is increasingly paying off
Alongside Project Clariant, which was launched at the end of 2008,the company-wide Clariant Excellence initiative has become a key element of the company’s strategy. Clariant Excellence is intended to produce long-term changes and improvements to the company’s business culture and internal processes, leading to regular annual cost savings. The mission of Clariant Excellence is to enhance competitiveness by improving efficiency and creating value. The company is creating a culture of continuous improvement based on the four pillars of Operational, Commercial, People, and Innovation Excellence. Clariant has also put internal control mechanisms in place to maintain what has already been achieved.
Since the start of 2009, Clariant Excellence has initiated more than 1 000 projects that have resulted in benefits of CHF 13 million in 2009 and approximately CHF 50 million in 2010. The 2010 figure is likely to grow significantly during 2011. Most of the projects to date have focused on the areas of Operational and Commercial Excellence.
